RevolutionPly® Holiday Sign & Presents Display – Part I
December 17th, 2019
Decorating your front porch or entryway for the holidays is easier than you think. All it takes are a few supplies and a little imagination. We created a festive display using RevolutionPly® plywood, a superior alternative to lauan or meranti.
To get started on this project, see the following list of supplies:
18mm RevolutionPly® (lauan plywood/meranti plywood alternative)
Table saw or circular saw
Miter saw
Electric drill
Sanding block
Paint
Paint brushes
Stain
Rag or sponge brush to apply stain
Clean rag to remove excess stain
Polyurethane
Sponge brush
Adhesive stenciled letters
Wood glue
5/8” wood screws
Holiday ribbon and bows
1/2″ finishing nails
Hammer or electric finish gun
Door or gate hinge
The first step is to measure and cut your pieces to the desired size. For our sign, we cut the RevolutionPly® 5’ tall and 12” wide and our presents were cut in three different sizes for some variation; 24” tall x 14” wide, 15” tall x 12” wide, and 8” tall x 10” wide. All pieces were lightly sanded to remove any rough edges.
Our next post will include painting, distressing and decorating our RevolutionPly® holiday sign and presents display, as well as photos of the completed project.
