The first Thanksgiving was a celebration of giving thanks for the first harvest in the New World between the Pilgrims and the Native Americans in 1621.  Thanksgiving has been an annual tradition in the United States since the Founding Fathers.  In 1941 by federal legislation, the fourth Thursday in November became the Thanksgiving holiday.  It has historically been not only to give thanks for the harvest, but also for all the blessings of the year.

It is tradition for family and friends to gather on this special day and share a feast of wonderful foods such as turkey, stuffing, vegetables, cranberry sauce and a host of tasty desserts such as pumpkin pie.  Thanksgiving has also become known and the beginning of the holiday season.
