RevolutionPly® Decorative Birdhouses – Part I
August 4th, 2017
Decorative birdhouses are not just for use outside for birds, they can also be used seasonally to enhance the décor of a home or festive gathering. Over the next several weeks, we will be constructing and decorating a series of four birdhouses using our RevolutionPly® panel. These birdhouses will be decorated to represent the four seasons. Below is a list of supplies needed to complete each birdhouse structure and then decorations/embellishments will be noted as we add details in completing each birdhouse.
Getting started you will need:
- RevolutionPly® plywood (alternative to Lauan/Meranti plywood)
- tape measure or ruler
- miter box/miter saw
- wood glue
- finishing nails
- hammer or nail/staple gun
- block sander or sand paper.
Always remember to measure twice before cutting as this will ensure your cuts are accurate. You can make these birdhouses whatever size you like. We are making ours to fit on a table top or mantle, so the dimensions we are going for are approximately 18” x 7” x 11”.
Check back next week for the beginning stages of our RevolutionPly® decorative birdhouse project.
RevolutionPly® is a Lauan/Meranti plywood substitute that is made from 100% plantation and sustainable wood sources making it great for crafting projects.
