Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

March 10th, 2015

Although Saint Patrick’s Day is not a legal holiday in the United States, it is widely recognized and observed throughout the country as a celebration of Irish and Irish American culture. Celebrations include prominent displays of the color green, eating and drinking, religious observances, and numerous parades. The holiday has been celebrated on the North American continent since the late eighteenth century.

In observance of St. Patrick’s Day, Patriot Timber Products has created crafty yard displays using our RevolutionPly® panels. This is a simple and fun St. Patrick’s Day project that the entire family can enjoy!

Supplies you’ll need for this project:

RevolutionPly® panel(s)
Garden stakes
Jigsaw
Mod Podge
Sandpaper
Paint (we bought the sample size paint from our local home improvement store)
Small paintbrush or foam brush
Adhesive to attach the garden stake to the back of your shamrocks
Weather protectant or sealant

We traced the shamrock shape onto the RevolutionPly® panel then used a jigsaw to cut out the shape.  After lightly sanding the edges, a single coat of paint was applied to the primed side of the panel.  We then used Mod Podge to affix our “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” letters, clovers and leprechaun face.  Once the paint and Mod Podge are dry, you can spray each sign with the weather protectant/sealant and affix your stakes. This is a great project to get the kids involved in. Once you have the shapes cut out, they can paint and decorate their own shamrocks.
