Part 2 – Using Beadboard for ceilings and soffits

Beadboard Ceiling   Kitchen Beadboard Soffit

Installing beadboard is an easy and economical way to update your ceilings and soffits for a fresh new look. It can be painted or stained depending on the interior and exterior look of your home.

1)      A beadboard ceiling can add unique texture and dimension to a room. Once installed it can be painted or stained to match the décor of the room. You could go traditional white or be adventurous and colorful!

2)      Do you have odd ceiling angles in a bonus or attic room? Disguise those angles with beadboard and make them an eye pleaser instead of an eye sore. Added texture and dimension = added interest and character.

3)      Does your covered front porch need a facelift? Start with a ceiling makeover. Be sure to thoroughly clean the existing ceiling surface you will be covering and check for any damage that needs to be repaired prior to installing your beadboard ceiling. Stain or paint depending on the exterior look of your home.

4)      If you live in an older home and your kitchen cabinets do not reach all the way to the ceiling, then you have a soffit area above your cabinets that is probably painted sheetrock. Want to revamp this area? Remove your trim moldings and repair any damaged sheetrock then cover the sheetrock with beadboard. Paint or stain to match your cabinets (or not if you want contrast). Instantly give your kitchen a more modern, custom look.
