Birch Plywood Table Box – Part I

December 1st, 2016

A great idea for decorating a table for the holidays is to construct a centerpiece box to hold your choice of festive items.  Supplies needed to complete this project are a piece of birch plywood, a saw, measuring tape, block sander or sand paper, wood glue, finishing nails and wood stain.

To build our box, we used 1/2″ or 12mm birch plywood as we wanted our box to be sturdy.  The pieces were measured and cut to the desired size and then lightly sanded to remove any rough, splintered edges.

See pictures below of the supplies for our project as well as the progress so far.  Check back next week to see tricks for distressing the wood pieces to give our birch plywood table box a more rustic or antiqued look.
